Individual Therapy

Do you feel like life is working against you?

Is anxiety running you all over the place?

Our thoughts often trip us into behavior that is no longer good for us or those around us. Sometimes all we can think is, “I am not good enough for anything.” “I can’t do anything right.” “I no longer want to even try.”

Your worth as a human being is unconditional.

It is likely that an experience (or even repeated experiences) early in life formed this belief about yourself that you are unworthy of the love, connection, and support of the outside world.

If you have heard of a self-fulfilling prophecy, this feeling of ‘not good enough’ causes behavior such as isolation, not trying new things, or withdrawing from relationships.

We can’t see ourselves until someone puts up a mirror – and we say “Oh!”

Let’s get you to the place where you can breathe a sigh of relief. Meeting one-on-one, I can help you feel understood and heard. Sit down and relax within a safe environment to dig deeper and discover what you’re capable of doing. We can’t see ourselves until someone puts up a mirror, and we say, ‘Oh!’ I hope to put you at ease and offer you the support you need.

EMDR

“No, It’s not voodoo.”

What is EMDR?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a technique to accelerate the process of therapy and distance the feelings from those memories to finally put them in the past.

EMDR is a therapeutic approach for treating traumatic experiences and emotional difficulties from disturbing life experiences such as sexual assault, childhood abuse or natural disasters. Positive outcomes have been proven through extensive research. With a high success rate, another reward is that results come quickly.

How does EMDR work?

As a trained EMDR treatment specialist, I will use an eight-step protocol to get back to that place where the event occurred. The treatment permits the body to move through the sensations that were locked at the time of distress to unravel and release any reoccurring symptoms.

It is often the one therapy that works when clients have tried everything else with no results.
